The Future of Social Unrest in an LC-NOM World
If humanity continues down its current path, driven by lower consciousness (LC) and Non-Oneness Movement (NOM) principles, the future will be characterized by social unrest, instability, and an increasingly difficult life for the vast majority of people. As selfishness, short-term thinking, and self-destruction become even more entrenched, the consequences for society will be dire, creating a world where suffering, division, and chaos dominate.
This article will explore how a continuation of these LC-NOM values could lead to escalating social unrest, the collapse of social systems, and the hardship that will characterize daily life for most people.
1. The Widening Wealth Gap and Economic Inequality: Fuel for Unrest
In a future driven by LC and NOM values, the wealth gap will continue to grow. The wealthy elite, motivated by greed and self-interest, will hoard resources and manipulate the system to maintain their power, leaving the majority of humanity in a state of poverty and desperation.
Economic Collapse for the Many
Stagnating wages and rising living costs will make it increasingly difficult for working-class and middle-class families to make ends meet. The cost of basic necessities like housing, food, and healthcare will skyrocket, while wages remain stagnant or even decline.
As automation and AI replace jobs in various sectors, unemployment will soar, leaving millions without meaningful work or income. The elites will prioritize profit over people, exacerbating inequality.
Growing Resentment
Wealth inequality will foster deep resentment among the masses. As the wealthy live in luxury, shielded from the world’s problems, the rest of society will suffer from economic insecurity and poverty.
This resentment will lead to frequent protests, riots, and violent clashes between the disenfranchised and those in power. Governments, instead of addressing the root causes of the inequality, will respond with oppression and militarized policing, further inflaming tensions.
The Breakdown of Social Contracts
The traditional social contracts, where governments provide safety, infrastructure, and welfare in exchange for taxes and obedience, will begin to break down. The disenfranchised will feel that governments and corporations only serve the wealthy, leading to widespread distrust of institutions.
Social services will be gutted as governments face increasing debt and prioritize corporate bailouts over public welfare. Access to healthcare, education, and unemployment benefits will decline, leaving millions vulnerable.
2. Violence and Crime in a Society Without Trust or Safety
As social unrest grows and inequality deepens, crime rates will spike. With fewer opportunities for economic advancement and increasing desperation, many will turn to crime as a means of survival.
Rising Crime Rates
The collapse of the social fabric will lead to an explosion in property crime, theft, and violence. As basic needs become harder to meet, even previously law-abiding citizens will resort to crime in order to feed their families.
Gang violence and organized crime will thrive in this environment, as criminal organizations exploit the chaos to expand their power. These groups will offer protection and resources in exchange for loyalty, creating mini-authoritarian regimes in urban centers.
Police States and Surveillance
Governments will respond to this increase in crime with harsh, authoritarian measures. Surveillance systems will expand, and police states will become the norm in an effort to control the unrest. However, these measures will only lead to more brutality and mistrust between civilians and law enforcement.
In this future, people will live in constant fear—not just of criminals, but of the very authorities that are supposed to protect them. Police forces will prioritize the protection of the wealthy elite, leaving the majority of the population vulnerable.
Loss of Personal Freedom
Freedom of speech and the right to protest will be severely restricted. Governments will justify these measures as necessary for public order, but in reality, they will serve to suppress dissent and maintain the status quo.
Censorship will become widespread, with those who speak out against the elite or demand justice being silenced, imprisoned, or even disappeared. The public will be monitored and manipulated to prevent any meaningful resistance.
3. Environmental Degradation and the Struggle for Resources
As LC-NOM principles continue to guide global decision-making, the environment will continue to deteriorate. Climate change, deforestation, pollution, and resource depletion will lead to devastating natural disasters, food shortages, and conflicts over resources.
Resource Wars and Famine
As arable land diminishes and water becomes scarce, conflicts over natural resources will intensify. Nations, corporations, and local warlords will fight for control of what remains, leading to wars and displacement of millions.
Famine will become widespread in areas already affected by poverty and climate change. Crop failures, droughts, and natural disasters will make it impossible to grow enough food to feed the global population. The wealthy will secure what food is left, while the poor will starve.
Environmental Refugees
Mass migrations will occur as people flee regions devastated by climate change and environmental destruction. Coastal cities will flood, forests will burn, and deserts will expand, forcing billions to leave their homes in search of safety.
Refugee camps will swell with displaced people, but host nations will close their borders, unwilling to share what little resources they have left. Tensions between locals and refugees will boil over into violence and xenophobia.
Ecological Collapse
The Earth’s ecosystems will continue to collapse, leading to extinction events and the destruction of biodiversity. The unchecked exploitation of natural resources will leave the planet barren, with deserts and wastelands expanding as arable land disappears.
The quality of life for all beings—humans and animals—will deteriorate. Polluted air, water shortages, and extreme weather conditions will make survival increasingly difficult, particularly for those without the wealth to insulate themselves.
4. Mental and Emotional Collapse: Despair, Alienation, and Fear
In a world dominated by LC and NOM, the mental health of the population will plummet. Despair, alienation, and fear will become pervasive, as individuals struggle to find meaning in an increasingly chaotic and selfish society.
Rising Mental Health Issues
With no hope for upward mobility and constant social instability, more and more people will suffer from depression, anxiety, and hopelessness. Suicide rates will rise as individuals lose faith in their future and in society’s ability to improve.
Substance abuse will become rampant as people turn to drugs and alcohol to escape the crushing reality of their lives. Addiction will spread across all social classes, further deteriorating public health and family structures.
Loneliness and Alienation
Community bonds will weaken as society becomes more individualistic and selfish. People will feel isolated and disconnected from their neighbors, families, and even themselves. The rise of digital technologies and social media, driven by profit rather than connection, will exacerbate this loneliness.
The breakdown of traditional support structures, like family and community, will leave people feeling abandoned. With no sense of belonging or purpose, they will become increasingly susceptible to radicalization and violent extremism.
Fear and Anxiety
The constant threat of violence, environmental disasters, and economic collapse will create a culture of fear. People will live in a state of hypervigilance, always worried about losing what little they have left.
The distrust of others—whether government, law enforcement, or fellow citizens—will make it difficult for communities to rebuild. Fear will prevent cooperation, further entrenching the selfishness and division that LC values perpetuate.
5. The Collapse of Civilization: A World of Suffering
If humanity remains on its current path, guided by LC and NOM principles, the future will be one of civilizational collapse. The institutions that once held society together—government, economy, education—will crumble under the weight of greed, division, and environmental destruction.
An Uninhabitable World
Basic services like clean water, electricity, and healthcare will become luxuries for the elite, while the majority of the population struggles to survive in an increasingly inhospitable world. Infrastructure will decay as governments prioritize corporate profits over maintaining public goods.
With global supply chains collapsing, essential goods will become scarce. Food, medicine, and fuel will be rationed or hoarded by the wealthy, while the poor will be left to fend for themselves.
Survival of the Ruthless
As societal structures collapse, the world will become one of survival of the ruthless. Those with power and resources will do whatever it takes to maintain control, while the masses struggle in a dog-eat-dog existence. Ethical considerations, compassion, and empathy will be pushed aside in the face of the overwhelming need to survive.
A World Without Hope
In this future, hope for a better world will be scarce. Spiritual fulfillment and meaning will be eclipsed by the fight for survival, and humanity will remain trapped in an endless cycle of selfishness, violence, and destruction.
Conclusion: A Warning for the Present
This vision of social unrest, driven by lower consciousness (LC) and Non-Oneness Movement (NOM) principles, is not just a speculative future—it is the natural outcome of a world that prioritizes selfishness, greed, and short-term gain over collective well-being and sustainability. If humanity continues down this path, the consequences will be dire: increasing inequality, escalating violence, environmental collapse, and widespread suffering.
The Cycle of Destruction
In this future, self-destruction becomes the norm. With no sense of interconnectedness or responsibility to others, individuals, corporations, and governments will continue to exploit, consume, and destroy. This behavior will only accelerate the collapse of social systems, leaving the world in a state of chaos and disorder.
Hope for change will fade as trust in institutions crumbles, and the possibility of cooperation diminishes. Without a guiding light of higher consciousness, humanity will remain trapped in a cycle of division, continually choosing selfishness over compassion, and destruction over regeneration.
The Challenge of Escaping the LC Trap
The entrenched systems of greed and power in an LC world make it extremely difficult to break free from the NOM mentality. People, businesses, and governments alike become locked in a mindset of self-preservation, unwilling to sacrifice for the greater good.
Compassion and justice will be seen as weak and impractical in a world driven by profit and power, making it hard for those who wish to lead with empathy to find a foothold. Without a collective awakening to higher consciousness values, even well-meaning movements will struggle to make lasting change.
