The Existence of Evil
In the Oneness Movement (OM) framework, Oneness encompasses the entirety of existence—all thoughts, desires, emotions, and actions—both constructive and destructive. Evil, as experienced in the physical realm, is understood as a consequence of Low Consciousness (LC) and the influence of Non-Oneness Mentality (NOM). These states distort and fragment the natural harmony of Oneness, leading to behaviors rooted in fear, ego, and division.
Evil has no inherent purpose or justification. It is simply the outcome of operating from a limited, self-centered perspective that disregards the interconnectedness of all beings. The goal of OM is to expand consciousness toward High Consciousness (HC) and the principles of OM to purify selfishness and harm within ourselves and in the world.
1. Understanding Evil as a Consequence of LC
Evil arises when beings operate from LC, a state dominated by fear, greed, competition, and the desire for control. In this state, the ego perceives itself as separate and disconnected from the greater whole, prioritizing personal gain over collective well-being.
Characteristics of LC that Lead to Evil:
Greed and Exploitation: LC fosters a mindset of scarcity, where resources are hoarded and others are dehumanized to secure personal advantage. This leads to exploitation, harm, and suffering.
Fear and Control: Fear drives individuals to seek dominance over others, often through violence, manipulation, or coercion. These actions cause pain and perpetuate cycles of harm.
Lack of Compassion: In LC, empathy is suppressed or absent. Others are viewed as obstacles or tools for self-interest rather than as interconnected beings deserving of care and respect.
2. The Role of NOM in Amplifying Evil
NOM represents the systemic embodiment of LC. It creates structures and cultures that normalize division, hierarchy, and exploitation, amplifying the consequences of LC at a societal level.
How NOM Perpetuates Evil:
Division and Dehumanization: NOM thrives on “us vs. them” mentalities, justifying oppression and exploitation for the sake of maintaining power or economic growth.
Short-Term Thinking: NOM-driven systems prioritize immediate gain over long-term well-being, resulting in environmental destruction, systemic inequality, and widespread suffering.
Moral Justifications for Harm: NOM promotes the idea that harmful actions can be excused if they lead to personal or societal success. This rationalization undermines empathy and ethical responsibility.
3. The Path to Purify Evil and Selfishness
Evil, as a consequence of LC and NOM, can be purified through the expansion of consciousness toward HC and OM. This process involves addressing both personal tendencies and systemic structures rooted in fear and separation.
Expanding Consciousness Toward HC
Self-Reflection and Awareness: Recognizing and addressing the shadows within ourselves—fear, anger, greed, and ego-driven behaviors—is the first step. Through mindfulness, meditation, and spiritual practices, we align with higher consciousness and move beyond selfish motivations.
Compassion and Empathy: HC emphasizes deep compassion, fostering a genuine desire to alleviate suffering and uplift others. As individuals purify their own intentions, they naturally act in ways that benefit the collective.
Transforming Systems Aligned with NOM
Promoting Unity and Sustainability: OM encourages dismantling systems that perpetuate division and harm, replacing them with structures rooted in equity, sustainability, and interconnectedness.
Cultivating Collective Responsibility: Expanding consciousness is not just a personal journey—it is a collective effort. By fostering awareness and compassion in communities, we create environments where HC principles thrive, reducing the influence of LC and NOM.
4. Moving Toward a Reality of Oneness
The ultimate goal of OM is to align humanity with HC and OM principles, where love, unity, and compassion guide all actions. By expanding consciousness, individuals and societies transcend the distortions of LC and NOM, purifying the selfishness and harm that create suffering.
Evil is not an external force or a necessary part of existence—it is the consequence of choices made from a limited and fragmented perspective. As consciousness expands, the grip of LC and NOM diminishes, giving way to a reality where interconnectedness and harmony prevail.
Conclusion: Purifying Evil Through the Expansion of Consciousness
In the Oneness Movement framework, evil is understood as a result of LC and NOM—a reflection of division, fear, and ego-driven actions. It has no higher purpose or justification but serves as a reminder of the consequences of disconnection from Oneness.
The path forward is clear: to purify evil and selfishness within ourselves and others, we must expand our consciousness toward HC and OM. Through compassion, self-awareness, and collective responsibility, we move closer to a reality where unity, love, and sustainability define all aspects of existence.
By embracing the principles of OM, we align with the truth of Oneness, fostering a world where harm is replaced with healing, and division is transformed into connection.
